Easy To Use

How to use our products

A step by step guide.

Step 1

About the first step

Start by adding exactly 20 liters of raw, untreated water into a clean bucket. Accurate measurement is vital because each sachet is precisely formulated to treat this specific volume, ensuring the correct concentration of active ingredients for both clarification and disinfection.

Preparation of Raw Water

A single Bishan Gari sachet can treat 20 liters of turbid and unsafe water. We assure the continued safety and wellness of users of the product if they follow strictly the following scientifically approved application procedures.

Step 2

About the second step

Carefully open the Bishan Gari sachet and pour the entire contents into the bucket of water. This single sachet contains a scientifically balanced mixture of a chlorine disinfectant (calcium hypochlorite) to kill pathogens and a coagulant to remove physical impurities.

Adding the Purifying Agents

Open the sachet and add the contents of the sachet into the bucket.

Step 3

About the third step

Stir the water rapidly with a clean stick for 2 minutes to ensure the powder is fully dissolved and distributed. Follow this with 3 to 5 minutes of slow stirring. This two-stage process—known as coagulation and flocculation—allows the active ingredients to bind with dirt, bacteria, and viruses, forming heavy particles called “flocs”.

The Multi-Stage Stirring Process

Stir rapidly with a stick for 2 minutes and then stir slowly for an additional 3-5 minutes.

Step 4

About the fourth step

Allow the water to sit undisturbed for at least 30 minutes. During this time, the flocs settle to the bottom of the bucket, and the disinfectant has sufficient contact time to eliminate 99.9999% of harmful microbes. Remember: a longer detention time often results in even clearer water.

The Settlement and Disinfection Period

Wait for 30 minutes until the flocks settle and all the germs die, the longer the detention time the clearer the treated water.

Step 5

About the fifth step

Carefully strain the clear top layer of water through a clean, thick cotton cloth into a dedicated safe water storage container. Once finished, be sure to bury the settled sludge (the “flocs”) in the ground to prevent any concentrated contaminants from returning to the environment.

Straining and Safe Disposal

Strain the water through a thick cotton cloth into a safe water storage container and then bury the settled substances (I.E: sludge).

Step 6

About the sixth step

The treated water is now microbiologically safe and ready for your family to drink. To maintain its purity, always store the treated water in a clean, covered container to prevent re-contamination from hands or insects.

Consumption and Safe Storage

The water is finally ready for consumption. The treated water can be used until finished – make sure to store in a safe water container.
